Raigarh. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel and guidance of Cyber Cell DSP Abhinav Upadhyay, a joint team of Cyber Cell and Police Station Kotwali has caught a young man who was betting on cricket on mobile in Chandmari area of the city.
Police had received information that a person named Pradeep Patel near Chandmari was contacting people on mobile and placing online cricket betting notes on the Kolkata-Hyderabad final match of IPL. Immediately the police team left for the raid under the leadership of police station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Sukhnandan Patel. On the spot, suspect Pradeep Patel was found in Patel Gali Chabutra, who when interrogated admitted to playing online cricket betting. Accused Pradeep Patel father late. Ghurau Ram Patel age 31 years Sakin Patel Gali Chandmari Police Station Kotwali District Raigarh, in the possession of a touch screen mobile in which there is an account (10,700) of betting on 6 overs by many people and Rs 2,01,400 in two papers. Betting bar, cash amount of Rs 3100, a pen were found which was confiscated. A case has been registered against the accused in police station Kotwali. 316/2024, action has been taken under Section 7 Gambling Prohibition Act and sent on remand.
