Action continues against those spreading misinformation about Mahakumbh, FIR registered

Prayagraj: UP Police is taking action against those spreading misleading/false news on social media regarding Mahakumbh. In this episode, after former Banda MLA Brijesh Kumar Prajapati, now action has been taken against more than half a dozen ex and Instagram accounts. It is alleged that these people spread rumors by calling a video related to the incident of Nepal as Mahakumbh.

In fact, recently a video went viral on social media, in which it was claimed that three people of the same family died during the stampede in Mahakumbh and their relatives are carrying the bodies on their shoulders. However, this claim turned out to be completely fake in the fact check of UP Police.

The Kumbh Mela Police of Prayagraj clarified that the viral video is related to an old incident in Nepal, which has no connection with Mahakumbh. The police called it an attempt to spread rumors by wrongly linking it to Mahakumbh. Now the police has taken strict action against those spreading false news about Mahakumbh and has registered an FIR against 7 ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) accounts and one Instagram account.

SSP (Kumbh) Rajesh Dwivedi said – A case has been registered in Kotwali police station against 7 X accounts and one Instagram account spreading misinformation about Mahakumbh on social media. Any such misleading propaganda will not be tolerated.

At present, Kumbh Mela Police has posted from its official X account and appealed to the public not to share any video or news without checking. Police say that such rumors not only spread panic in the society, but also raise questions on the arrangements for big religious events.

Let us tell you that the police has identified 7 social media accounts for spreading rumours, which include – Brajesh Kumar Prajapati (@brajeshkmpraja), Rajan Shakya (@RAJJANS206251), Ashfaq Khan (@AshfaqK12565342), Satya Prakash (@Satyapr78049500), Priyanka Maurya (@Priyank232332), Akash Singh Bharat (@Akashsinghjatav) and Abhimanyu Singh (@Abhimanyu1305).

Apart from this, a video was also posted from the Instagram account, Tiger Yadav (@tigeryadav519), in which it was being shown in a dramatic adaptation that the bodies of the dead in Kumbh Mela are being immersed in the river. It was also being said that the bodies of those who are still breathing are being immersed in the river after removing their kidneys.
