Janjgir. After investigation, the police have registered an offense under the Atrocities and Abuse Act against a person who abused the Mitanin on caste basis while she was on duty at the polling station on the election day.
According to the police, a woman from Baheradih is a terrorist in the village. On May 7, the day of voting for Lok Sabha elections, his duty was assigned at booth number 172 of Government Primary School, Baheradih of Jaijaipur Assembly constituency. Mitanin was doing duty there along with his MT. At 7.30 in the morning, voters were being given water mixed with ORS solution. At around 11 o’clock, Gyan Singh Chandra of the village came with his family members to cast his vote and after coming out after casting his vote, he started abusing people of a particular community.
It is alleged that if people did not vote, they were threatened to have their ration card cut and their pension stopped. According to the woman’s report, Gyan Singh Chandra pointed towards the woman and abused her. Police investigated on the woman’s complaint. During the investigation, statements of the people present at the spot were taken, after which a crime has been registered against Gyan Singh Chandra under section 294, 506, (3)(1)(d)(th) ST, SC Act.
