Rajnandgaon. The absconding accused of cattle smuggler has been arrested by the police from Maharashtra. It was told that the accused had fled away from the date of the incident, taking advantage of the darkness of the night, leaving the vehicle loaded with cattle. With the help of cyber cell, the police was successful in catching the accused. The police is searching for other persons involved in the animal smuggling case. According to the information received, on the night of 11th February, the truck which was going to cross the Maharashtra border from Dongargaon police station area via Gandatola police station area, was stopped near village Chhuriyadongri by the police station Gandtola and Dongargaon staff, who stopped the driver from stopping the cattle-laden vehicle on the road. He left the spot and ran away taking advantage of the darkness of the night.
When cattle were found crammed into a truck and cruelly taken to Maharashtra for slaughtering without fodder and water, 29 cattle and a vehicle worth Rs 3 lakh 29 thousand were seized. Was brought to the police station. On the basis of evidence obtained during the interrogation and investigation of the accused, when he was found to have committed a crime, he was arrested in the case on February 17 and sent on judicial remand. Other accused involved in the case are being traced.
