Jamnagar: More than a dozen Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders resigned from the party on Wednesday. These include party city chief Kar Karamur, deputy chief Ashi Sojitra and Ashish Kataria. Those who resigned accused the top party leaders of breaking their promises. These leaders expressed their dissatisfaction through a letter addressed to AAP state chief Ishudan Gadhvi. One of those who resigned said, “I have been a part of AAP for three years. The party made many promises during the assembly elections, but failed to fulfill them. Despite several appeals and discussions, the party did not take action on previously agreed matters, due to which I had to resign along with 15 other office-bearers.” Unlike AAP, BJP is running a united election campaign here. BJP’s Poonam Hematbhai had won from Jamnagar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This time also BJP has fielded Poonam only.
