Raigarh. A youth was seriously injured in a fight in village Chhote Gumda of Thana Gharghodha area, who has been referred to Higher Hospital for treatment. On receiving information about the incident, Gharghodha police took immediate action and arrested the accused and sent him on judicial remand in the case of attempted murder.
Yesterday, Sukamani Das (45), resident of village Chhote Gumda, lodged a complaint at Gharghodha police station that his son Bhavesh Mahant (18) was attacked on the head with a stick by Sudhir Gupta (29), resident of Chhote Gumda, due to which Bhavesh became unconscious. When Bhavesh’s parents and sister questioned Sudhir about this, he also abused and assaulted them. On the basis of the report, a case was registered against the accused in Gharghodha police station under crime number 30/2025 section 296, 351 (2), 109 BNS and investigation started. After initial treatment, the injured has been referred to Raipur. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police team immediately raided the residence of accused Sudhir Gupta under the leadership of police station in-charge Gharghoda Inspector Ramkinkar Yadav, ASI Wilfred Masih and took the accused into custody and brought him to the police station. Accused Sudhir Gupta, father Gopal Prasad Gupta, age 29 years, resident of Chhote Gumda, police station Gharghoda, in his memorandum statement told about having a previous rivalry with Bhavesh and his family and when Bhavesh Das Mahant came near his house on the evening of 01.02.2025, he attacked him on the head with a wooden stick with the intention of killing him due to old rivalry and injured him. After some time, when Bhavesh’s father, mother and his sister came, they were also abused and beaten. A wooden stick used in the incident was seized from the accused and he has been sent on judicial remand.
