A youth carrying illegal Mahua liquor from Sapnai forest was arrested

Raigarh. Police team led by Thana Incharge Chakradharnagar Inspector Prashant Rao on 23 January 2025 made the villagers aware in village Pandripani, Loing, Mahapalli and Jamgaon as part of the campaign against illegal liquor. Meanwhile, the police received information that a person was carrying Mahua liquor for sale from Sapnai forest towards Sikosisimal.

Acting on the information, the police team caught the suspect, who was identified as Mohit Rathia (25) son of Metku Ram Rathia, resident of Sikosisimal, Thana Chakradharnagar. During the search, 15 liters of Mahua liquor was recovered from the possession of the accused, which is worth about ₹ 3000. After completing the seizure process, the accused was brought to the police station, on which a case was registered under section 34 (2), 59 (a) Excise Act. Gharghoda Police today on 24 January 2025 arrested a woman while taking action against illegal liquor in village Devgarh. During the raid, 7 liters of raw Mahua liquor was recovered from the possession of accused Ratna Yadav (42) wife Raj Kumar Yadav, which is worth about ₹ 1050. Police seized the Mahua liquor on the spot and a case has been registered against the accused under Section 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act.
