Raigarh. A case of a youth threatening people by brandishing a sharp weapon has come to light in Chakradharnagar police station area. The police showed promptness and arrested the accused and action has been taken against him under the Arms Act.
The incident took place on the night of March 31, when police station in-charge Prashant Rao received information that a youth was threatening passersby with an iron sword in his hand near the District Panchayat Office. On receiving the information, the Chakradharnagar police immediately cordoned off the area and caught the accused. During interrogation, he told his name as Sanju Chakraborty (21 years), resident of Chhote Atramuda, Police Station Chakradharnagar, District Raigarh. During the search, the police recovered a pointed and sharp sword from his possession.
A case was registered against the accused under Section 25, 27 of the Arms Act in Chakradharnagar police station and action was taken. Head constable Ravi Sai Pankra and constable Sushil Minj played an important role in this operation. The police have made it clear that such anti-social activities will not be tolerated at any cost in the city and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
