In a move that is proving to be a strategic turning point for India’s electronics manufacturing sector, Messe Muenchen India has announced that its flagship trade fairs – Electronica India and Productronica India – will be held annually in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru from April 2026. The announcement was made during a high-level industry conference in Greater Noida, attended by senior leaders from major electronics manufacturing companies such as Samsung, Syrma SGS, Sahasra Group, Capital Meters, VVDN and the leadership of industry bodies such as ELCIN, ICEA, CLIK, ELCIA, FICCI, IPC, EPIC and Messe Muenchen India.
The decision comes at a time when the industry is not only expanding but also evolving due to the need for faster product cycles, regional manufacturing growth and more flexible supply chains. After extensive consultations with manufacturers, suppliers and procurement leaders, the new format meets clear demands: shorter sourcing cycles, stronger regional reach and more consistent face-to-face interactions.
According to Messe Muenchen India, over 70% of buyers surveyed supported the shift to annual volumes, citing the need to align interactions with suppliers with dynamic production timelines. Suppliers also emphasised the importance of regular market visibility and proximity to key buyers, especially in a sector where speed, trust and responsiveness are critical.
Posted as a strategic north-south link, this alternative format aims to strengthen India’s electronics supply chain from both ends of the country, creating a regionally driven platform that supports India’s broader goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub.Atul B. Lal, Vice President and Managing Director, Dixon Technologies, said, “Technology adoption is critical to India’s competitiveness in global electronics. By creating two touchpoints every year, this initiative accelerates synergies between buyers and suppliers and keeps innovation within reach of every stakeholder in the value chain.”
The Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA), the leading industry body, also extended its support. Raju Goyal, Secretary General, ELCINA said, “This annual format in two key areas is the need of the hour. It ensures wider reach, faster industry interaction and better visibility for emerging technologies and supply chain solutions. ELCINA welcomes this move and looks forward to supporting both editions.”
Adding the voice of India’s policy and business community, Manish Sharma, Chairman, FICCI Electronics Manufacturing Committee said, “India’s electronics growth story is now a national priority. We must accelerate this progress by creating platforms commensurate with the pace of innovation. The bi-edition format of Messe Muenchen India will be a powerful catalyst for regional access, investor confidence and technology exchange.”
Putting this initiative in a global perspective, Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO, Messe Munich GmbH, said: “India is playing an increasingly important role in the global electronics value chain. With these annual events in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, we are reinforcing our commitment to India by providing the industry with timely regional access to innovation, suppliers and partnerships. This is a natural step for a market that is rapidly establishing itself as a major global manufacturing hub.”
To further broaden the relevance and reach of these platforms, cricket star Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the official brand ambassador of electronica India and Productronica India for 2025 and 2026. His association aims to connect these trade fairs to a wider community of startups, innovators and young professionals shaping the future of Indian electronics.
“As India’s electronics industry grows rapidly, we are evolving with it—creating platforms that reflect this momentum and inspire the next generation. By having Rohit Sharma as our brand ambassador, we are taking electronica India and Productronica India beyond business—to the heart of India’s growth story,” said Bhupinder Singh, IMEA President, Messe Munich and CEO, Messe Munich India.
Electronica India and Productronica India will continue to serve as important platforms for the global electronics industry—where suppliers, manufacturers, policy makers and innovators come together. Besides being exhibitions, they drive investments, enable knowledge exchange and strengthen the electronics manufacturing value chain. The upcoming 2025 edition in Bengaluru will be the largest ever, with over 800 exhibitors.
