Bilaspur. A historic state level conference was organized in the Chhattisgarh High Court. The objective of this conference was to discuss the current challenges and their role of the Indian judiciary, especially the district judiciary. On this occasion, three judges of the Supreme Court, Justice BR Gavai, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra were present. This is the first time in the High Court that three judges of the Supreme Court arrived together in an event. chhattisgarh

chhattisgarh news The conference was inaugurated by Justice BR Gavai with the lighting of the lamp. In his inaugural address, Justice Gavai said that the judiciary is the backbone of democracy and the district judiciary is the foundation of the judicial system. Underlining the importance of the district judiciary, he said that all judges are part of a judicial family and no one is subordinate.
Justice Gavai emphasized the need for modern technical knowledge and resources to improve the judicial system. He said that the judiciary should gradually move towards virtual court, for which it is mandatory to have technical knowledge and resources. He also highlighted the qualities of an ideal judge, which include politeness, intelligence, gentleness and impartiality. In the technical session of the conference, Justice Sanjay K. Agarwal, Justice Parth Pratim Sahu, Justice Rajni Dubey and Justice Deepak Tiwari expressed their views on the challenges of the district judiciary. They discussed in detail the measures and provisions to deal with these challenges.
Justice Vikram Nath said in his presidential address that the conduct of a judge is very important inside the court. He emphasized on the judges of the district judiciary being proficient in modern technical knowledge and said that the work of a judge is a divine act which should be performed with great vigilance and caution.
