Jashpur. In Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, the police have arrested the accused of raping a girl. The minor who helped in the crime has been presented in the Juvenile Court. The incident is from the Pandarapath outpost area of the district. Regarding the incident, the police said that the 20-year-old girl had lodged a report in the Pandarapath outpost that about 2 years ago the accused Deepak Ekka used to come to her village and work as a laborer. They knew each other since that time and both used to talk. Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh said that on June 26, the girl was returning home after roaming with her friends, at the same time Deepak Ekka was standing on the roadside with his 14-year-old friend on the bike.
Deepak Ekka took the girl to a neighboring village on the pretext of taking her for a walk. During this time the minor left from there. After which the accused Deepak Ekka forcibly dragged the girl to a hut-like place and raped her. The accused kept the girl there all night. On the morning of 27th June, Deepak Ekka left the girl on the road and fled from there. The victim reached home and told her family about her ordeal. After registering the case, the police started searching for the accused. Based on information from an informer and with the help of cyber cell, the accused Deepak Ekka was arrested from his village. After taking the minor under protection and questioning him, the accused confessed to the crime. The police arrested the accused Deepak Ekka (22) and sent him on judicial remand and the juvenile boy was produced before the Juvenile Court.
