The government’s special focus is on providing better facilities to investors, making the process of setting up industries easier and increasing employment at the local level.
1091 investment proposals will change the industrial picture of Bihar
Industry Minister Shreyasi Singh said that the interest of investors in Bihar is increasing. The 1,091 proposals received so far from the year 2025 mention a total potential investment of Rs 1,21,863 crore.
It is estimated that more than 68,807 employment opportunities will be created once the industries related to these proposals are established. However, there is a difference between the proposed investment and the actual investment. Actual employment opportunities will be available only after the construction of projects, commencement of production and completion of the expansion process.
The minister said that the government is paying special attention to the expansion of industrial facilities to get the investment proposals off the ground.
521 industrial units got 727 acres of land
Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority has allotted about 727 acres of land to 521 industrial units from the financial year 2025-26 till now.
These units are likely to generate investment worth Rs 18,380 crore and 49,167 employment opportunities.
The government believes that providing land to industries on time will help in carrying forward investment projects.
Emphasis is also being laid on providing roads, electricity, water and other necessary facilities in the industrial areas developed by BIADA. This can reduce the initial difficulties faced by entrepreneurs in setting up their industries.
28 new industrial areas will be built in 25 districts
The Industries Minister said that work is being done on a large scale to increase the availability of land for setting up new industries in Bihar.
There is a plan to develop new industrial areas at 28 places in 25 districts of the state. For this, the process of acquiring about 14,600 acres of land is being taken forward.
The objective of this initiative is to promote industrial activities in different parts of the state instead of restricting the industries to only a few major cities.
With the development of new industrial areas, employment opportunities at the local level are likely to increase and small businessmen will also benefit.
Manufacturing city will be built on 1670 acres in Gaya
Important industrial projects of Bihar government also include the proposed Integrated Manufacturing City at Dobhi in Gaya district.
This project will be developed on about 1,670 acres of land. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has scheduled the launch of the portal of this project and starting the land allotment process on October 24.
Modern facilities for various manufacturing units will be developed in this industrial city.
There are also plans to set up a common waste water treatment plant and integrated command and control centre. This is expected to help in monitoring industrial activities and environmental management.
Ready infrastructure for investors
According to the Industries Minister, a network of 94 industrial areas has been developed in the state.
There is more than 32 lakh square feet of plug and play infrastructure available in these areas.
Under the plug and play system, ready-made industrial space is provided to the entrepreneurs. This may reduce the need for companies to develop an entire structure from scratch to set up their own factory.
The government aims to reduce the time and initial cost of setting up an industry.
Apart from this, single window clearance system is also being strengthened for the convenience of investors. Through this, 62 services of nine departments have been made available.
Special emphasis on semiconductor and electronics industry
Bihar government is also paying attention to the development of modern technology based industries along with traditional industries.
The Industries Minister said that high-tech industries are being encouraged through Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026.
There is a plan to develop a new technology center in Patna on 15 acres of land at a cost of Rs 171 crore.
Apart from this, a proposal to establish Electronics City in the state is also being prepared. It is being prepared to be presented before the Cabinet soon.
The government believes that the advent of modern technology based industries can create new opportunities for the youth in engineering, technical training and other fields.
