Chhattisgarh: Woman sentenced to life imprisonment in triple murder case

According to the prosecution, the case is of 26 August 2003 night between 2.30 and 3 o’clock. The applicant Shanti Bai told the police that one and a half months before the incident, her sister-in-law Seema had a quarrel with Girdhari, Nandkishore and their wives over the issue of children. Then Girdhari, Nandkishore and their family had fled somewhere. On 26 August 2003, the applicant was sleeping with her husband Dukalu and children in a locked room. Between 2.30 and 3 in the night, Ravi and his wife shouted, “Save me, save me.” When the door was opened and the light was switched on, the children, Puneet, Arjun, old Arjun, Dharmu, Dinesh, Phool Singh, Ganeshri, Kondi Bai, Yashoda Bai, Santoshi Bai and others were fighting with Neelkanth method and were hitting Ravi with sword, khukri, tangia, gupti, spear, rod, stick. Ravi had fallen down. Seeing the applicant, the accused came towards the applicant and said to kill him also.

Ganeshri, Yashoda, Kondi Bai, Santoshi hit the applicant with a stick and Baiga Raju attacked Bhuja with a sword. Seeing this, her husband Dukalu entered inside and closed the door. But all the accused broke the door and entered inside and cut the hands and legs of Dukalu. They also beat Shankar. Ravi died at the time of the incident and after some time the applicant’s husband Dukalu also died.

Similarly, deceased Ranjit’s wife Seema Bai also told the police that one and a half month before the incident dated 26 August 2003, there was a dispute in a fight between the children. Due to this grudge, Girdhari, Nandkishore, Chinna, Potaraju, Baiga Raju, Neelkanth, children in conflict with law, Puneet, Arjun, Bada Arjun, Dharmu, Dinesh, Phoolsingh, Ganeshari, Kondi Bai, Yashoda Bai, Santoshi Bai and others beat her husband Ranjit to death with sword, khukri, tangiya, gupti, spear, rod and stick.
