People’s rule began in the state: Kolusu
Eluru: State Housing and Information Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy on Thursday inaugurated the special counter set up for the sale of rice and pulses at Nuzvid Raithu Bazaar. He checked the quality and weight of the goods at the shop. Goods were made available to several cardholders. Speaking on the occasion, he said the State government has taken steps to provide quality essential commodities to poor people at affordable prices. People should avail the subsidised rice and pulses supplied through 282 special counters set up across the State. He assured that people’s rule has started in the State and everyone will get benefits from now on. Arrangements have been made to sell red gram dal (domestic variety) at Rs 160 per kg (open market price Rs 181 per kg), BPT/Sona Masuri Badhi rice (steam) at Rs 49 per kg (open market price Rs 55.85 per kg) and BPT/Sona Masuri Badhi rice (raw rice) at Rs 48 per kg (open market price Rs 52.40). As the prices of essential commodities have been skyrocketing for the past six months and the common people are facing a lot of difficulties, the State government has started their subsidised supply to make the goods available to the common people at low prices. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar took the initiative in this regard and brought the situation to the notice of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Following this, these special counters were set up in the Raithu bazaars. Nuzvidu RDO Y Bhavanishankari, DSO RSS Raju, local leaders, municipal employees and others were present.
