India’s auto industry will be number 1 in the world in the next 5 years: Union Minister Gadkari
Delhi. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA will get more seats than before in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He claimed that BJP’s performance in the general elections will be based on the work of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which people are appreciating. In an exclusive interview, the Union Minister said that India’s auto industry will be number one in the world in the next five years. Nitin Gadkari said, “The size of the Indian automobile industry at present is Rs 12.5 lakh crore. The industry has created 4.5 crore jobs so far, and it pays maximum GST to the central and state governments.” He said, “When I became minister, India’s auto industry was at 7th position in the world. I encouraged companies with new technology. Now India’s auto industry has overtaken Japan to reach the third position.” The Union Minister said that at present there is a triple engine government in Maharashtra. He said, “We will perform better in the Lok Sabha elections on the basis of our work.” On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Maharashtra, the Union Minister said that he has every right to take his party forward. Taking aim at the opposition alliance, he said that Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray will not get sympathy votes. Nitin Gadkari also said that he has good relations with all the parties. He said, “There can be differences in politics, but there should not be personal differences.” The Union Minister said, “NDA will get more seats than before in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.” Nitin Gadkari said that the government has built roads worth Rs 5 lakh crore in Maharashtra, so people are paying attention to our work. The Union Minister further said that abolishing the electoral bond scheme will open the doors of black money. He underlined the need for all parties to develop a better system. The fact cannot be denied that money is needed to contest elections and every party needs it, the Union Minister said during the interview. Nitin Gadkari questioned, saying, “In fact, the basic idea behind this scheme was that the parties will get money through bonds and if you want to make it number one then it will help in growing the economy. What is wrong in that? What was it?” He declined to comment on the Supreme Court judgment relating to the electoral bond issue. The Union Minister pointed out another drawback in the event of a ban on the electoral bond scheme. Even if electoral bonds are banned, money will continue to come in, he said, only in the form of black money. “If you don’t allow (electoral) bonds, people will use some other unfair means,” he said. Will take the money.”
