Miscreants encounter police, 2 criminals arrested

Meerut. In the early hours of today, police had an encounter with two miscreants who had stolen transformer goods in Mawana police station area of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. There was an encounter between the police and the miscreants at Sandhan culvert near Chhota Mawana, during which one miscreant was shot in the leg while the other miscreant tried to run away from the spot but the police chased him and caught him in a sugarcane field. The criminal injured in the encounter has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Giving information about the encounter this evening, SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan said that last night the police team of Mawana police station was touring the area. Information was received from the informer that the thieves involved in the incident of FIR No. 07/2024 Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code, registered at the local police station, are coming towards Chhota Mawana with the intention of selling the transformer goods.

In the self-defence firing by the police party, one miscreant riding a motorcycle, Ankit, son of Shauraj, resident of village Bhanaida, police station, Niwadi district, Ghaziabad, got injured and the remaining one miscreant ran towards the fields, who was chased by the police party and the absconding scoundrel Rahul, son of Virendra Kumar.
