The initial action of this case took place on 24 October 2026 in Pragathi Nagar area of Nalasopara East, where 332 grams of Mephedrone powder was recovered from two suspects.

This action indicates that the alleged narcotics network was not limited to Maharashtra, but was also linked to other states. Investigation of the role of the accused and their links with the manufacturing and supply of drugs will be important in the police investigation.

Police action started from Nalasopara

According to the information received, on October 24, 2026, Crime Detection Branch Unit-4 of Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar Police took action in Pragati Nagar area of Nalasopara East.

Police caught two suspicious youths near a car parking. They were identified as Avinash alias Sonu Loknath Iyer (22) and Ravikant Omprakash Ram (23).

According to the police, 332 grams of Mephedrone i.e. MD powder was recovered from both of them. After this recovery, the scope of investigation of the case was expanded.

Based on leads from the initial operation, police took steps to identify and arrest other people associated with the alleged network.

332 grams MD powder recovered

Police have informed that 332 grams of MD powder has been seized from the two suspects caught in Nalasopara.

The estimated value of the recovered drug is said to be around Rs 3 lakh 32 thousand.

Mephedrone is a synthetic narcotic, the illegal manufacture, sale and distribution of which is prohibited under law.

For the police, such seizures are not limited to just the seizure of narcotics. Through this, efforts are also made to reach the source of the substance, its suppliers and potential buyers.

However, detailed information regarding laboratory testing of the recovered substance and other technical evidence is not available in this case.

Action from Maharashtra to three other states

The scope of police action in this case has reached many cities and states.

According to available information, apart from Nalasopara, Mumbai, Kalyan, Neral and Jalgaon, the accused have also been arrested from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana.

The arrest of a total of 25 people shows the seriousness of the matter.

Since the accused were caught from different places, it will be important for the police to investigate their mutual relations.

It will also be necessary to find out who in the alleged network were involved in manufacturing, supply, transportation and sale.

However, detailed details of the names of all the 25 arrested accused, their individual roles and the number of arrests made from each location are not available.

Drugs manufacturing network exposed

Police have described this action as the busting of an interstate network manufacturing mephedrone.

This shows that this case goes beyond simple drug recovery and is linked to alleged illegal manufacturing and distribution.

In such cases, it is important for the investigating agencies to find out where the drug was being manufactured and to which areas it was being supplied.

Apart from this, investigation of financial transactions related to illegal business and contacts between various accused may also be necessary.

However, there is no detailed information available to confirm the locations where the alleged manufacturing units were identified by the police, what materials were recovered from there and the total quantity of drugs seized.

The scope of investigation increased due to the arrest of 25 accused

The arrest of a total of 25 accused in this case is considered a major action by the police.

After two suspects were initially arrested from Nalasopara, information about the action reaching various cities and states has come to light.

The arrest of such a large number of accused can help the investigating agencies in understanding the structure of the alleged network and its methods of operation.

The police will also have to investigate what kind of contact there was between the arrested persons and who were the people involved in the alleged illegal business.

However, arrest does not mean conviction of a crime. The criminal responsibility of the accused will be determined on the basis of available evidence and judicial process.

Challenge for interstate network police

When drug trafficking spreads across multiple states, investigation can be more complex.

Coordination among police agencies is necessary to investigate the presence of suspects, possible routes of transportation and supply movements in different states.

In this case, the scope of investigation has become wider as the names of various cities of Maharashtra along with Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana have surfaced.

In such a situation, it is important to share information with the police of the respective states and collect evidence by following legal procedures.

However, detailed details of the level of cooperation between police agencies of different states in this matter have not been revealed.
