Strict statement of Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister, said – corruption will not be tolerated in the education sector.

Tamil Nadu: Speaking at an event in Chennai on Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister P. Vishwanathan clearly stated that no form of bribery or corruption would be tolerated in the state’s higher education sector. He emphasized that the government operates with transparency and that anyone found engaging in wrongdoing at any level would not be spared.
The event was held at D.G. Vaishnav College in Arumbakkam, Chennai, to mark the formal launch of “Dinamani Student Flower 2026.” College Secretary Ashok Kumar Mundra presided over the function, which was attended by Higher Education Minister P. Vishwanathan as the special guest; he inaugurated the initiative.
Manoj Kumar Sonthalia, Chairman and Managing Director of “The New Indian Express,” received the publication at the event. Meanwhile, Dinamani Editor K. Vaidyanathan delivered the introductory address, highlighting the significance of the “Student Flower” program.
In his address, Minister P. Vishwanathan remarked that the Higher Education portfolio he holds in the Tamil Nadu Cabinet reminds him of the administration during the era of former Chief Minister Kamaraj and Kakkan. He stated that his department is committed to upholding that same transparent and honest style of functioning.
The Minister asserted that complete transparency would be ensured in the higher education sector and that no irregularities or corruption would be accepted at any level. He reiterated that the government’s objective is to strengthen the education system and make it fair, thereby providing better opportunities for students.
He further stated that the government has adopted a clear policy that there is no room for bribery or malpractices in the education sector. Strict action will be taken against any individual or institution that violates the rules.
Many dignitaries from the academic community, members of the college administration, and students were present at the event. The program aimed to encourage students and promote excellence in the field of education.
The Minister’s statement appears to further reinforce the government’s commitment to transparency and reform within the education sector.
