There is a possibility of rain in South Tamil Nadu today.

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has stated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in South Tamil Nadu on Monday (March 16).
In this regard, a press release issued by the Meteorological Department notes: An upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over the southeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining Lakshadweep areas. Furthermore, due to the presence of a lower-level cyclonic circulation extending from the North Sri Lanka coast across the southwest Bay of Bengal to the Comorin Sea areas, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at one or two places in the Nilgiris district and South Tamil Nadu on Monday (March 16). On Tuesday (March 17), moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at one or two places in South Tamil Nadu and North Interior Tamil Nadu.
From Wednesday (March 18) through March 21, moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at a few places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. The skies over the Chennai and Puducherry regions are expected to remain partly cloudy on Monday.
Temperature: The release further states that a slight rise in maximum temperatures is likely at a few places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from Monday through Thursday.
