Indore: Clean water for the rich, sewerage for others? Bhagirathpura Trust has dried up.

Madhya Pradesh: The residents of Bhagirathpura, forced to spend lakhs of rupees every month on unhealthy drinking water, have accused the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) of gross negligence and double standards in water supply.
Residents of the area say their area is treated as second-class citizens compared to wealthier colonies. They say that due to the contaminated Narmada water, repeated complaints, and government negligence, access to clean drinking water has become a daily struggle, leading to illness, deaths, and deep distrust.
In Bhagirathpura, clean water has become a luxury, and trust in the system has completely eroded, and the anger of losing neighbors and loved ones is slowly turning into heartbreak.
The recent water contamination caused by a sewage leak in the Narmada pipeline has not only led to diseases and deaths, but has also exposed the step-motherly attitude of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) towards the so-called “backward” areas of the city.
