Nagaland: Zadima Nuolho Dey confirms community ties

Nagaland: The Jhadima community celebrated Jhadima Nuolho Day at the Jhadima Sports Complex on Tuesday, emphasizing unity, shared identity, and the role of youth in the village’s future.
The event, organized by the Jhadima Village Youth and Sports Organization (ZVYSO), brought together community members and those living outside the village.
Addressing the gathering, ZVYSO President Kekhrisili Khaubwe said that with the Jhadima population growing and many members permanently settling elsewhere, it has become increasingly important for the community to come together and strengthen their bonds.
He said, “It is important to come together and get to know each other,” and expressed hope that the coming year will be good for the community.
Zhadima Village Council (ZVC) Chairman Nilalhouli Solizhuo said that the village’s officially registered population has crossed 5,000, reflecting a steady growth. He also extended his best wishes to the community on this auspicious occasion. In his speech, Rev. Dr. Visili Solizuo, Principal of Faith Theological Seminary, recounted the history of the village’s founding and promoted unity, love, and faith. He also emphasized the importance of education and employment, urging young people and students in particular to study and work hard.
Kedilezo M. Keditsu, Head of the GB, emphasized the need to preserve the village’s identity and reminded villagers of the old rules and regulations.
The program was chaired by ZVYSO Vice President Keneikhrili Miario. Music was led by ZVYSO Advisor Visili Khaubwe, and Menuolhonuo Sanchu played the piano. The event began with a prayer by Rev. Thefusalaho Khaubwe, Pastor of the Zadima Bawe AG Church.
Cultural and musical performances featured a special performance by the Angelic Choir and the theme song “Zadiyo Zadima” by renowned Naga musician Wisetuo Chupuo and friends. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Secretary for Judicial Affairs, Kezienguli Alban Sorinuo, followed by a mass by the village priests and catechists before a community feast.
A highlight of the celebration was the traditional war cry contest by representatives of eight village sports, which drew enthusiastic and applause from the crowd.
