Google marks 27th birthday with original 1998 logo!

Google celebrated its 27th birthday on September 27 with a colorful Google Doodle on its homepage. The doodle brought back Google’s original 1998 logo reminding users of how the company started and how far it has come.
Google was founded in 1998 by two Stanford students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin in a small garage in Menlo Park, California. Their idea was to create a tool that could organize the world’s information and make it easy to access. What began as a small project soon grew into the most popular search engine in the world.
Interestingly, the company’s name itself comes from a happy mistake. The original idea was to call it “Googol,” a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. But during domain registration, the word was misspelled as “Google.” The error stuck and today, that misspelling has become one of the world’s most recognized names.
Today, Google is no longer just a search engine. It powers services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Android phones and even advanced AI tools.
The 27th birthday doodle was not only a look back at the past but also a sign of what’s ahead. From the days of dial-up internet and bulky computers to today’s fast searches on smartphones, Google has shaped the way people use technology.
