Women self-help groups started production of ready-to-eat in Raigarh district
Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, has given concrete shape to the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and has again entrusted the work of manufacturing supplementary nutrition food “Ready-to-Eat” to women self-help groups. This important initiative has started from Raigarh district. Recently, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai had provided contract letters to 10 women self-help groups of Raigarh. After this, the work of machine installation was done rapidly and now the production of “Ready-to-Eat” has been started from the village panchayat Kotarliya of Raigarh district.
Chief Minister Sai said that this initiative will make women economically self-reliant as well as provide quality nutritious food to Anganwadi children. He said that a target has been set to create 3 crore “Lakhpati Didi” across the country and Chhattisgarh is working at a fast pace in this direction. Raigarh has become a leading district in this campaign.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Finance Minister OP Choudhary inaugurated the “Ready-to-Eat” manufacturing unit in village Kotarliya. During this, he himself operated the machine and inspected the production process and instructed the women to maintain quality. The Finance Minister said that this initiative started from Raigarh will soon be implemented in all the districts of the state and this model will become an inspirational example for the entire state.
It is noteworthy that a total of 2709 Anganwadi centers are operating in Raigarh district. 10 women self-help groups have been selected for all these centers. These groups are also being provided capital subsidy under the Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PMFME) scheme. The selected groups under the projects of Raigarh district – Raigarh Urban, Raigarh Rural, Pusaur, Kharsia, Gharghoda, Tamnar, Lalunga, Mukdega, Dharamjaygarh and Kapu will soon start “Ready-to-Eat” production. At present, it has started from Kotarliya.
It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, this mission of women empowerment and malnutrition eradication is being implemented as a pilot project in the first phase in 6 districts of the state- Bastar, Dantewada, Balodabazar, Korba, Raigarh and Surajpur. Raigarh has become the first district of the state where women groups have started “Ready-to-Eat” production. This initiative will provide a new direction to both the economic prosperity of women and the health of children.
