Greening the Future: Ismaili CIVIC organizes Tree Planting & Distribution Drive

Raipur : With an aim to enhance environmental sustainability and increase urban green cover, Ismaili CIVIC planted & distributed a total of 300 saplings including varieties such as guava, hybrid papaya, custard apple, lemon, Mulberry, Molishri, Jarul etc .as a part of a global campaign, Roots for Change.

The plantation & distribution was conducted at the 3 Places simultaneously on the occasion of Independence Day, 255 saplings were distributed at Police Ground Independence Day Parade & Flag hosting, 35 saplings were planted at Scholars English Medium School & 10 saplings were planted at Purnima Higher Secondary School. The event witnessed wholehearted 20 volunteers who worked round the clock with the unwavering support of Chhattisgarh Forest Department & Chhattisgarh department of Police in attaining the vision of a greener planet.

“Roots for Change” is a global tree-planting initiative by Global Encounters and Ismaili CIVIC. The global goal is to plant over 1 million trees in celebration of the Global Encounters Festival 2025, which was recently held in Dubai earlier this year. Through the power of collective action, the volunteers not only planted trees – they planted purpose, passion and the promise of a greener tomorrow.

Mr Samir Lirani Leader of the Ismaili community respectively said
“The tree planation drive is not only about greening our surroundings but also about nurturing a spirit of responsibility and unity within the community. Together we can grow a healthier more hopeful tomorrow.”
