Awareness is necessary to change life and save life: Ramen Deka

Raipur. Governor Ramen Deka today held a meeting of block level officers of aspiring blocks Korba and Podi Uparora in Korba district and discussed the points set in the indicators of aspiring blocks and directed to increase other parameters including health and education. The Governor instructed to bring change in the lives of the people of the village by benefiting them through schemes, to work by improving the work being done, to make good use of the funds available for development works, to make the public representatives of the area also a part of good works and to work for the development of their village, district, state and country. He said that fine is not the only option to curb road accidents and improve traffic in Korba district. People’s life is precious and awareness is also necessary to save life. He told that it is the result of awareness that people clean their hands properly and use toilets. By holding a meeting of the officers of aspiring blocks Korba and Podi Uparora, Governor Shri Deka reviewed the work done so far and gave instructions to bring progress. He directed for saturation in the indicators set under the aspirational block.
The Governor directed to promote institutional delivery under health, treatment through Ayushman, identifying patients of TB, hypertension, diabetes and providing them timely treatment and creating awareness for its prevention. He directed to make the children of scheduled areas well-nourished by providing them supplementary nutrition on time. Governor Shri Deka directed to connect school dropout children with education, improve board exam results and bring progress in the number of students securing more than 60 percent marks. While giving instructions to take steps towards environment and water conservation, he directed to promote construction of rain water harvesting, assess the condition of water logging before and after monsoon to ensure continuous availability of water in Amrit Sarovar, Dabri and ponds constructed under MNREGA and make the villagers aware about water conservation. Governor Shri Deka also directed to promote sports in the village, to organize social programs in a systematic manner, to develop a study environment and to emphasize on the establishment of gym, community hall, library. He also directed to provide access roads to schools, hostels, hospitals, to encourage beneficiaries receiving funds under PM Awas Yojana to complete their houses, to make members of self-help groups Lakhpati Didi, to work towards livelihood of villagers by linking them with animal husbandry. The Governor directed to bring progress in the flagship schemes run by the Government of India and the State Government and to ensure implementation of the schemes at the ground level and to benefit the needy beneficiaries from the schemes. Governor Shri Deka, while giving instructions to bring progress in the works of Bharat Net and PM Awas Yojana in Pondi-Uprada area, also appealed to the elected public representatives of the area to work towards promoting development works in their area. He directed to hold parent-teacher meetings for better results in the examinations. During this, Collector Ajit Vasant said that compliance of the instructions given by the Governor will be ensured. Officers were present in the meeting.
