Surat: Two caught with 10.534 kg ganja in a trolley bag near Niyol check post, two wanted

Two youths entering Surat on foot from three routes near Niyol check post on Kamrej road in Surat district were caught smuggling marijuana on the pretext of travel. Saroli police have taken legal action by seizing 10.534 kg of ganja from his trolley bag.

Saroli police, on the basis of secret information, alighted from the bus near Niyol check post on Surat-Kamarez road and Sanjay Rajkumar Prasad Jaiswal (aged 40, currently resident of Sayaji Hotel, Meghdut Nagar, Indore, Madhya Pradesh) was coming on foot with a trolley bag. R/o Rajabazar Bihiya Tehsil Arrah, Distt. Bhojpur, Bihar) and his compatriot Harishankar Prayagshah Gupta (aged 40) were arrested. When the police checked the trolley bag of both, 10.534 kg of ganja was found in it. The police registered a case against both of them under the NDPS Act, recovered cash and two mobile phones, besides seized one lakh rupees of ganja and seized assets worth Rs 1.12 lakh.

One lakh was to be received after delivery

In the interrogation of both, the watchman Sanjay and Harishankar, a casual laborer, brought ganja from Indore resident Ankush and were about to give it to compatriot Mohammad Meraj alias Mintu Shami Ahmed Ansari, who lives in Surat. After giving ganja to Mohammad Meraj, he confessed to going back to Indore after taking one lakh rupees from him. Therefore, the police has declared Ankush and Mohammad Meraj as wanted.
