9 foot long king cobra rescued from house in Odisha’s Boudh district

Boudh: A 9 foot long king cobra was rescued from a house in Boudh district of Odisha on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Atalsara village situated on the bank of Mahanadi River under Kusang panchayat of the district.

As per reports, the family members of Sadananda Naik first spotted the long snake that entered their house in Atalsara village. Frightened, they immediately called the snake helpline to rescue the snake.

After getting information about the snake a six member team from the Snake Helpline Club of Kantamal reached the village and initiated a search operation. After about one hour the team rescued the snake.

Upon observation it was seen that it was a king cobra. Upon measurement it was known that the snake was about 9 feet long.

After rescuing the snake, the helpline members took it with them and later released it into its natural habitat at a lonely place in the Satkoshia sanctuary.
