7,500 people infected with dengue in Tamil Nadu in five months

Tamil Nadu : According to the Public Health Department, more than 7,500 people have been infected with dengue fever in Tamil Nadu alone in the last five months and 4 of them have died. Following this, steps are being taken to intensify disease prevention activities across the state.
Cases of fever are increasing in Tamil Nadu for the last few weeks due to ongoing climate change. In particular, the number of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that spread dengue fever is increasing and they are spreading diseases. Following this, disease prevention and mosquito elimination activities have been intensified across the state.
In this regard, public health officials said:
Dengue prevention activities have been expanded across the state. Accordingly, health workers have been deployed in mosquito elimination efforts in all districts of Tamil Nadu.

He said that orders have been given to set up dengue wards and beds in hospitals and keep adequate medical facilities ready.
