Visakhapatnam: Thimma Nagamayya, a frail 75 year old man, died in a tragic accident at his home in Boddam village. The fire was believed to have started from the wood of the console, which engulfed a man lying in bed while he was sleeping.
Weakened by illness, Thimma reportedly kept wood with him in the kitchen to keep warm. But a spark, a moment from the lost brass, ignited the fire, turning a simple act of care into a destructive inferno.
Alerted by the lamas, neighbors reached there, but it was too late. When officials arrived, they found only the carbonized remains of ancient man. His wife, Sanyasamma, lodged a complaint with the police and they are investigating to determine the exact cause and sequence of events.
This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of older people and the unpredictable ways in which misfortune can strike.
