Raigarh: Gharghoda TI Amit Kumar Tiwari has arrested the gamblers by conducting a raid. It is being told that information was received from the informer that some people are gambling with cards in the name of win and loss on the main road in the forest of village Katangdih. After confirming the information, TI Amit Kumar Tiwari along with the staff and witnesses left for village Katangdih and laid a siege. Seeing the police, some gamblers managed to escape, while 6 accused were arrested on the spot. Police recovered a total of ₹ 1,24,940 cash, 52 cards, and a mat from the accused.
Action was taken against the accused under Section 3(2) Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022. The accused were taken into custody and brought to the police station and separate preventive action was taken against them under sections 170/126, 135(3) BNSS and they were produced in the court.
