5 smugglers arrested with 50 kg ganja, used to supply it by hiding it under the chamber of the car

Chandauli: Chakia police and surveillance team exposed the ganja smuggling on Sunday. The police team arrested five smugglers and recovered 50 kg ganja from them. The recovered ganja is said to be worth Rs 10 lakh.

The police laid siege in Shikarganj area and arrested the smugglers with ganja. About 50 kg ganja was recovered from two Scorpios. The police have also seized both the cars. The ganja smuggling is linked to Rourkela in Odisha. The accused smugglers used to supply ganja by hiding it under the chamber of the car.

The accused used to bring the ganja consignment from Rourkela and sell it in Bihar including Chandauli. During interrogation, the arrested smugglers told the police that the quality of ganja from Odisha is very good. Because of this, there is a huge demand for it in the market.

The accused told the police that whatever money they earned by selling ganja, they divided it equally among themselves. The police is interrogating the accused. All the arrested smugglers are residents of Kaimur district of Bihar. At present, the police is engaged in action.
