5 days police remand to bribery JE of Sangdah

Junior engineer Pradeep Kumar Sharma, arrested for bribery, posted in the BDO office of the sub-divisional headquarters has been sent on police remand for 5 days by the court. The team of State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau produced the accused in the court today.

The Vigilance team may seek details of movable and immovable property from the junior engineer during enquiry. Will also inquire on other aspects as well. Let us inform that on Tuesday afternoon, the junior engineer was arrested red-handed by the Vigilance team while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the panchayat deputy head.

The complainant had said that corruption is widespread in the area. There was also an allegation of alleged misappropriation of compensation for the Renuka Dam project. It is worth mentioning that the junior engineer had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the panchayat deputy head regarding the estimate of the road.

On the other hand, State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau’s Superintendent of Police Anjum Ara has confirmed that the accused has been sent on police remand for five days. He said that the accused would be produced in the court again on April 10.

Please inform that in case of arrest for 48 hours, the deemed suspension of JE Sahab is fixed. The department will also issue suspension orders at its own level, as well as departmental inquiry can also be ordered.
