5-day visit: PM Modi receives rousing welcome in Netherlands

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in the Netherlands on the second day of his five-day foreign tour. The tour, which runs from May 15th to 20th, is visiting the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. The objective of this multi-country visit is stated to be to further strengthen India’s bilateral relations and promote cooperation in various fields.

Upon his arrival in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed at Amsterdam Airport. He was formally received by Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen and Indian Ambassador Kumar Duhin. Security was tight, and a special protocol was followed for the Prime Minister’s reception. Officials present at the airport and representatives of the Indian community also welcomed the Prime Minister.

This visit is the second leg of the Prime Minister’s five-nation itinerary. Earlier, during the first leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi visited the United Arab Emirates, where he met with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During this meeting, the two leaders discussed issues such as energy, investment, and strategic partnership. Special emphasis was placed on deepening relations between India and the UAE.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the Netherlands is considered significant as discussions are expected to take place between the Indian and Dutch leadership on a number of key issues. Prime Minister Modi is expected to hold bilateral talks with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Zetten. This meeting will discuss further expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, security, and renewable energy.
