Janjgir-Champa. City Kotwali Police has arrested 5 accused who committed mobile robbery in Janjgir-Champa district. Police have recovered 20 mobile phones worth Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand from the accused. All three accused have been arrested and sent on judicial remand, while two minor children have been sent to a child care home. According to the information, 3 unknown persons had committed the robbery of Anjani Kumar Pandey near Ravidas Chowk of Ward No. 17 of the district. Anjani had filed a report that on February 24, he was going home after getting vegetables from the vegetable market, when a person came near him. Looted Rs 550 and mobile phone at knifepoint. After that he escaped with two other companions.
City Kotwali police station in-charge Praveen Kumar Dwivedi said that after registering the report, the cyber team and police team were engaged in the investigation. During this time information was received that some suspicious people were living in a rented house in Champa. On which the said suspicious persons were taken into police custody and interrogated. On enquiry, it was told that Bakim Mandal, Krishna Shah and Sheikh Chunnu are residents of Jharkhand state. Which talked about theft of mobile phones in the markets and fairs organized in different police station areas of the district like Pamgarh, Baloda, Naila Chowki and other districts. 20 mobile phones of different companies have been recovered from the accused. The price of the mobile is said to be around Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand. Also, a knife used in carrying out the robbery has been seized. All three accused have been arrested and sent on judicial remand. 2 minor children have been sent to child care home.
