According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake occurred at 4.42 p.m. According to reports, a magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred in the waters around Nijima and Toshima islands, at a depth of about 10 km. No tsunami warning has been issued. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
