4 more district SPs transferred in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu: Following the announcement of the Assembly elections, Superintendents of Police (SPs) of four more districts have been transferred.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 23rd, and the Model Code of Conduct came into effect on the 15th. Ahead of the Assembly elections, political parties are submitting various complaints to the Election Commission. Specifically, they are demanding the transfer of several officials, including police officers, who have been implicated in bias and complaints. Based on the Election Commission of India’s order, Tamil Nadu Home Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Kumar on Friday ordered the transfer of four District Superintendents of Police.

According to the report, the transferred SPs (old designation in brackets):

G. Jawahar: Kanchipuram District Superintendent of Police (Chennai CBCID SP), K. Prabhakar: Perambalur District Superintendent of Police (Chennai SP, Prohibition Enforcement Division),

E. Sundaravathanam: Thanjavur District Superintendent of Police (Chennai Q Division SP),
