340 packets of paddy seized in Saraipali and Bhanwarpur

Mahasamund. The joint team of revenue and market took major action against illegal storage and transportation of paddy in Saraipali and Bhanwarpur sub-tehsil. On Saturday, the joint team of revenue and market seized a total of 340 packets of paddy in three different cases.

The first case is of village Bijrabhanta (Sagarpali), where 180 packets of paddy were brought from outside and stored by Sirmoti husband Venulal in the garden of Sukdev father Mastram. On receiving information about violation of Mandi Act, the joint team of revenue and market took immediate action and seized these paddy. The second incident took place in village Khogsa. Where 80 packets of paddy were being illegally transported in a pickup vehicle. The joint team stopped this vehicle and investigated it. In the investigation, the paddy loaded on the vehicle was found to be illegal, which was seized under the Mandi Act and kept safe in Bhanwarpur sub-mandi. Similarly, a pickup vehicle was caught carrying paddy illegally at a farmer’s house in Girsa village of Saraipali development block. It was loaded with 80 sacks of paddy, which were seized under the Mandi Act and handed over to the Mandi. The administration has started action against those who violated the Mandi Act in all three cases. The district administration and the Mandi department have clarified that they are keeping a close watch on illegal paddy transportation and storage and strict action will continue against such activities.
