31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers killed since Russia’s invasion: President Zelensky

Kiev: President Vladimir Zelensky has said that about 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since Russia invaded two years ago. The President gave this information in a press conference on Sunday.
The BBC quoted Zelensky as saying, “31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in this war. The Ukrainian president said he would not reveal the number of wounded, because it would help Russian military planning.”
Regarding widespread losses in the war, the Ukrainian President said that thousands of civilians were killed in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, but the exact number is unknown. “I don’t know how many of them died, how many were executed, how many were murdered, how many were tortured, how many were deported,” the BBC quoted him as saying. American officials had put the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed in August last year at 70 thousand.
