Jamui: Three people were killed and three others were seriously injured in a collision between a Scorpio and a sand laden vehicle in the Sikandra police station area of Jamui district of Bihar on Tuesday morning. All the people in the Scorpio were returning from a Tilak ceremony. According to the police, six people in a Scorpio from Kunj village under Roh police station of Nawada district had gone to attend a Tilak ceremony in Arma village under Kajra police station of Lakhisarai district. While returning, a Hiva truck carrying sand at high speed from Jamui to Sheikhpura hit the Scorpio from the side. The collision was so severe that the Scorpio broke the gate of the middle school near Sikandra Chowk and fell into the school campus.
Virendra Singh alias Veeru and Ramakant Singh died on the spot in the accident. Four other people in the vehicle were seriously injured. People were returning to Nawada with the injured for treatment, but Arun Singh died on the way.
According to the police, as soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment where their condition is said to be out of danger.
