3 Naxalites killed in Bijapur, encounter continues

Bijapur. An encounter is going on between security forces and Naxalites in the district since Friday morning. It is being told that the force personnel have surrounded the big leaders of Naxalites in Pedia forest in Gangalur area. An encounter between soldiers is going on with the West Bastar Division Committee of Naxalites.

Information was received that there is a gathering of big leaders including hardcore Naxalite commander Linga, Paparao in Pedia. There are big Naxalite leaders of DKSZC, DVCM, ACM cadre in the Naxalite committee. On this information, the force launched a joint operation from three districts: Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma. More than 1200 force personnel including DRG, STF and Cobra battalion of CRPF have surrounded the area. Sources are saying that some Naxalites have been shot. There is also news of three Naxalites being killed. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet. Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav has confirmed the encounter.
