Bemetara. A major road accident took place in the district just before Holi, due to which the atmosphere of happiness turned into mourning. A speeding car went out of control and fell into the canal, killing three innocent children, while eight others were seriously injured.
The accident took place near Umaria village on National Highway-30, when 11 people in the car were going to Marka village to celebrate the festival of Holi. It is being told that due to high speed, the driver lost control of the car, due to which it overturned in the canal. The nearby villagers and passersby immediately started rescue work and helped in taking the injured out of the car and taking them to the hospital.
In this horrific accident, three children died on the spot, while the other eight people in the car are seriously injured. The local administration and police team immediately reached the spot and started relief work. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital, where their condition remains critical.
