Raipur. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, a special campaign against drugs is being run by Raipur Police under the Nijaat Abhiyan, in which continuous action is being taken by all the police stations and the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit. In order to take effective action against drugs, all the police station in-charges including the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge have been directed to take strict action against those who sell and supply intoxicants.
In the same sequence, the accused Deepak Ratre alias Honey Singh, father Gopal Ratre, aged 30 years, resident of Satnami Para, village Palaud, police station Mandir Hasaud Raipur, was arrested for illegally selling liquor on the main road intersection located at village Palaud under the area of Police Station Mandir Hasaud. 67 pauvas of country liquor worth approximately Rs 5,360/- and cash amount of Rs 1200/- Jumla worth Rs 6,560/- were seized and crime number 265/24 Section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered against the accused in Police Station Mandir Hasaud. Tax action was taken.
Similarly, the police station Mandir Hassaud arrested the accused Sohan Sahu, father Ganesh Ram Sahu, age 27 years, resident of Chandkhuri Basti, near the police station Mandir Hassaud Raipur, under the area of Monnet Road, police station Mandir Hassaud, and recovered from his possession 40 pavas of country liquor worth about Rs 4,400/-. Crime number 269/24 under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered against the accused in police station Mandir Hasaud and action was taken.
