Raipur. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, a special campaign against drug addiction is being run by Raipur Police under the Nijaat Abhiyan. In which continuous action is being taken by the entire police station and the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit. Along with forming a special team to take effective action against Narcotics Act and illegal liquor, all police station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those selling and supplying intoxicating substances. In the same sequence, on 13.04.2024, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that two different persons riding two wheelers were illegally transporting liquor in their vehicles in the police station assembly area. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Vidhan Sabha Police started locating the two-wheelers and persons of similar appearance mentioned by the informer. While locating persons and vehicles by different team members.
One person was caught near the canal crossing located in village Nardaha under the police station assembly constituency and the other person was caught near Aishwarya Bazaar located in Amasivni. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names to be Narendra Pathari resident of Nardaha assembly and Jaideep Nagvanshi resident of Labhandi Telibandha Raipur. When the team members searched the bags kept in both the vehicles, they were found to contain country liquor. When asked for valid documents from both of them regarding transportation/storage of liquor, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which accused Narendra Pathari was arrested and illegally kept from his possession 220 pauvas of country liquor worth Rs. 24200/- and Activa vehicle number CG/04/MX/4907 used in transporting liquor, Jumla worth about Rs. 64,200/- and the accused 240 pauvas of country liquor worth Rs 26400/- and Activa number CG 04 NG 1385 Jumla worth Rs 66,400/- used in liquor transportation were seized from the possession of Jaideep Nagvanshi. Crime numbers 219/24 and 220/24 were registered against the accused in the police station assembly. An offense under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act has been registered. Both the accused are friends. The accused had stolen Activa vehicle number CG/04/MX/4907 from police station Pandari area and were using the stolen vehicle to transport liquor by putting fake numbers on it. Crime number 84/24 Section 379 IPC against both the accused in the stolen vehicle in Police Station Pandari. The crime is registered, the accused are being arrested in this case also.
