2 interstate ganja smugglers arrested with 25 KG ganja, residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

Raipur: 2 interstate ganja smugglers have been arrested with 25 kg ganja. On the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Santosh Kumar Singh, Raipur Police is running a special campaign against drugs under the Nijaat Abhiyan, in which all the police stations and the team of Anti Crime and Cyber ​​​​Unit are continuously taking action. A special team of Anti Crime and Cyber ​​​​Unit has been formed to take effective action on the Narcotics Act, along with this, all the police station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those selling and supplying drugs.

On 17.06.24, the team of Narcotics Cell constituted under Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit received information that two persons have ganja with them near Telghani Naka Chowk under Thana Ganj area and are planning to go somewhere. On which Additional Superintendent of Police City Lakhan Patel, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Kotwali Yogesh Sahu and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh directed the in-charge Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and Thana Ganj in-charge to verify the information and catch the accused red handed with ganja. On which, under the direction of senior officers, the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and Thana Ganj Police went to the said place and while searching for the persons matching the description given by the informer, identified and caught the persons. During interrogation, the persons told their names to be Sunil Nishad resident of Kushinagar UP and Deepak Kumar Bharti resident of West Champaran Bihar. On searching the bag and sack kept with them by the team members, ganja was found in the bag and sack. On which the team members arrested both the accused and seized 25 kg 360 grams of ganja worth about Rs 2,53,600/- from their possession and registered a case number 244/2024 under section 20B of Narcotics Act against the accused in Police Station Ganj and took action.

Keshav Sinha, Pramod Behera, Rajendra Tiwari, Purushottam Sinha, Munir Raza, Rajesh Kurre and from Thana Ganj Sub Inspector Shankar Lal Sahu, R. Sukchand Netam, Jitesh Manjhi and Dinesh Verma played important roles.
