2 elderly people sleeping in the house were stabbed to death with a sharp weapon

Bettiah (IANS) | In Dhanha police station area of Bihar’s West Champaran district, two elderly people were killed by ripping open their stomachs with sharp weapons while they were asleep. Among the dead are a woman and a man, who were related to Bhaisur (Jeth) and Bhabho (Bhavah). A police officer said on Tuesday that Pahwari Yadav (75) and Jhalari Devi (70) went to sleep in their respective rooms on Monday night in Mushari Tola. Yadav was sleeping alone in his room while his granddaughter slept with Jhalari Devi.

Unknown criminals killed both of them with sharp weapons in the night. The incident came to light in the morning when other people of the house woke up.

Dhanha’s station in-charge Ajay Kumar said that after getting the information about the incident, the police is investigating the matter by reaching the spot. Police have taken both the dead bodies in their possession and sent them to the hospital for postmortem.

Kumar said that the cause of the incident could not be ascertained at the moment.
