2 bookies arrested near Bombay garage

Dhamtari: Police is taking strict action against those who run illegal liquor, gambling and betting. In this connection, the Kotwali police team arrested two bookies separately along with the satta patti and writing satta.

Accused Sahil Khan, father Karim Khan, age 21 years, resident of Risaipara Vishnu Hotel, Dhamtari Police Station, City Kotwali, Dhamtari District, was caught on the spot while gambling with people in a public place near Bombay garage in Dhamtari by writing gambling numbers called satta patti and betting on the win or loss of money. Rs. 19680/- cash, 3 pieces of money written in front of different numbers, 01 piece of blue dot pen were seized from them.

Accused Dev Rajinder Singh father late Darshan Singh age 60 years resident Risaipara was caught on the spot while gambling with people in a public place near Bombay Garage in Dhamtari by writing gambling numbers called Satta Patti and betting on the win or loss of money. Rs 13420/- cash, two pieces of money written in front of different numbers, 01 piece of blue dot pen were seized from them. Due action has been taken against both the bookies in Police Station City Kotwali under crime number 282, 283/24 Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 section 06 (a) Gambling Act. Both the accused were duly arrested and sent on judicial remand.

In the said action, Police Station Incharge City Kotwali Dhamtari Inspector Rajesh Marai, Sub Inspector Laxmikant Shukla, Sub Inspector Narendra Sahu, Prar. Deepak Sahu, Saurabh Patel Constable Mukesh Sinha, Chander Jamadar, Diamond Yadav had a special contribution.
