Kondagaon. The City Kotwali Police of the district received information from an informer that two persons on a scooty are coming from Narayanpur towards Kondagaon to go to Telangana after smuggling illegal ganja. On the information of the informer, the team of Kondagaon Police Station blocked the road and set up a check post near the Narangi river bridge. During investigation, as per the information given by the informer, two persons arrived at the check post on a scooty. On interrogation, one of them told his name as Laxman Mandavi, father late Shiv Mandavi, age 20 years, resident of DNK Colony Kondagaon and the other person told his name as Ganata Bose, father G. Laxmay, age 20 years, resident of Garapalli, Telangana.
02 packets of illegal drug ganja weighing total 4.74 kg were recovered from the possession of both the accused. Illegal narcotic ganja weighing 4.74 kg worth approximately Rs. 40,700, a scooty worth approximately Rs. 25,000 and cash of Rs. 5,000 recovered from them, totaling Rs. 70,700 were seized and action was taken against the accused under section 20 (b) of the NDPS Act and accused Laxman Mandavi and Ganta Bose were arrested.
