19-year-old student dies in Shaikhpet flyover accident

Hyderabad: A tragic incident took place in the city when a 19-year-old BBA student died in a car accident. The vehicle he was driving collided with a flyover. The incident took place on Shaikpet flyover near Malkam Cheruvu in Raidurgam. Police suspect that the victim might have dozed off, which led to the accident. The deceased has been identified as Charan, a student of ICFAI University. According to the police, the incident took place when Charan was going from Nandi Hills to Raidurgam. The car was completely damaged due to the collision, causing the student to die on the spot. Police said that the accident occurred due to rash driving. Police said that when Charan reached near FDDI, he lost control over the wheel and collided with the pillar of the flyover. He was reportedly alone in the vehicle and was driving at a high speed. “We suspect that he might have fallen asleep while driving, which led to the accident. The impact was so severe that the driver’s cabin was damaged. The steering wheel hit his chest, causing serious injuries and he died on the spot,” the police officer said. Other drivers who witnessed the accident informed the police. Police officers rushed to the spot and found Charan dead. His body was stuck in the driver’s cabin, making it difficult to remove it. Police confirmed that Charan died on the spot and it took two hours to remove his body from the damaged car. Preliminary investigations revealed excessive speed as the cause of the accident. A case has been registered and investigations are underway. The body was sent to a hospital for post-mortem following a complaint.
