Settle. Police have caught two people from Maharashtra while transporting illegal paddy from Odisha to Chhattisgarh. Also, 174 quintals of paddy worth about Rs 4 lakh has been seized from both of them. The vehicle used for transportation has also been taken into custody by the police. Actually, today the police had received information from the informer that a vehicle was coming from Odisha towards Basna towards Chhattisgarh via Palsapali barrier. On this, during checking at Palasapali Barrier Village Palasapali, the police team stopped the vehicle number MH04BG9953 and asked the name and address of the driver of the vehicle and his companion. On this, both of them revealed their names as 46 year old Kishore Gorle and 36 year old Nilesh Patil, both residents of Maharashtra.
On checking the vehicle, 380 bags of paddy were found inside the container, about 46-46 kg in each bag, a total of about 174 quintals of paddy. In the support price, the price of this paddy is said to be Rs 3,79,842. Both of them did not show any valid document regarding transportation of paddy. After this, the police seized the container vehicle number MH04BG9953 used in transportation, worth Rs 20,00,000 and paddy worth Rs 3,79,842, totaling Rs 23,79,842. Also, further action is being taken by arresting both the persons.
