17 gamblers who gambled away lakhs in the forest arrested

Balod. In Balod district, police have raided the gambling scam going on amidst dense forests. 17 gamblers who were gambling have been surrounded and caught. Action was taken in the case under Chhattisgarh Gambling Act. Cash worth Rs 1,08,030 and 6 bikes worth Rs 1,80,000, 10 Android mobiles worth Rs 50,000 and goods worth a total of Rs 3,38,030 have been seized from the gamblers. Police said that information was received from the informer that a gambling ring was being organized in the forest of village Bheja Maidan Gorsa Katta.

On this, police station Purur and cyber cell Balod in-charge Jogendra Sahu along with his cyber team raided village Bheja plains in the forest of Gorsa Katta. The police found a crowd of people on the spot and caught 17 people gambling. It is being told that some of them are habitual gamblers. Among all the accused, some are residents of Balod and some of Dhamtari. Seeing the police, there was chaos on the spot and some people who were gambling ran away.
